WhatsApp announces that it will no longer be compatible on the following devices

Whatsapp is one of the mobile applications that is constantly renewed. During the year we are forced to update the app several times either to have new emojis, share stickers with our friends or solve problems that you may present as any means of virtual communication. However, not all computers are designed to work with these new updates. In the next note, we tell you if you can continue enjoying the app, since starting on February 1 the download of the new version will be requested.

According to the official WhatsApp page, the social network is compatible with:

  • Android with operating system 4.0.3 or later
  • iPhone with iOS 9 or later
  • Models with the KaiOS 2.5.1 or later operating system
  • JioPhone and JioPhone 2

On cell phones with Android versions 2.3.7 and iOS 8 or earlier, you cannot create new accounts or verify existing ones. Windows Phone mobile phones will also not be compatible since the company withdrew from the Microsoft Store so its functions could fail without notice.

How many people from Lima use WhatsApp?

According to a study conducted by the ICC, it was estimated that 80% of Lima were users of social networks. Whatsapp integrates Millennials, Generations X and Y and Baby Boomers; and is used by the latter in greater quantity than Facebook. This is because there is currently a market that offers different models of smartphones at affordable prices.

Even mobile phone services such as Claro, Movistar, Entel, and others, have plans that include equipment up to S /. 1.00 new sun per month. In addition, there are more and more Peruvian companies that opt for social networks as work tools; either to delegate tasks or organize events. Likewise, a mobile messaging service such as Whatsapp facilitates direct communication between employers and workers because there is a faster response to any inconvenience that may arise.
