Destinations, gastronomy, culture and travel experience are some of the aspects most sought by the representatives of the Peruvian government and the private sector each time they attend an international tourism fair. And for this first quarter, the efforts of both will seek to position the country in at least four major events.
That is why the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (Promperú), will disseminate the country’s tourism offer in the United States during the Educational Travel Conference, which will take place on February 3 through February 6, 2020.
The aforementioned event will be held in the city of Chattanooga, in the state of Tennessee, which will congregate the educational segment of travel planners and tour operators wholesalers of the North American market. The presence of a Promperú representative aims to promote and disseminate the Peruvian tourism offer.
This is stated in Ministerial Resolution No. 017-2020 of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), which indicates the authorization to travel to the city of Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA, for Mrs. Martha Elisabeth Quezada Bamberger of Hakim, from February 1 to 8 of this year.
Approximately 250 professionals are expected to participate among planners of institutions, universities, museums, wholesalers and tourist offices, constituting an ideal space for the promotion and dissemination of the Peruvian tourism offer.
Millennials
On the other hand, Promperú said that 47% of foreign tourists that our country received in 2018 were millennials. This was determined through a study conducted by Turismo In, which revealed that the average expenditure of this segment is usually the US $ 917, while in the case of young Latin Americans) the expenditure is the US $ 416.
Similarly, the study revealed that the regions that were most visited by this human group were Lima, Cusco, and Puno, and the total of all transfers in the national territory represented 1.2 million trips.
Due to its characteristics, millennials choose to vacation in Peru because they consider it an ideal destination for adventure tourism, connecting with nature and enjoying the cultural richness of Peru.
