Iraq denounces the presence of drones and American troops in its territory

Adel Abdul-Mahdi, Prime Minister of Iraq, denounced by a telephone call to Mike Pompeo, secretary of state of the United States, that there would be drones and troops entering illegally into his country betraying the agreement signed between both countries. In addition, the Iraqi parliament’s request to withdraw more than 5,000 soldiers from the Asian region was announced.

The official asked the American government to establish an action plan to withdraw US forces from Iraqi territory. On January 5, the parliamentary motion was approved calling for the withdrawal of any foreign force in Iraq and to cancel the request for international help to combat the jihadist group Islamic State (ISIS).

The Prime Minister declared that they are working on the economic growth of Iraq and maintaining its «sovereignty, independence and national unity», so he reproached the actions that undermine the priorities he has within his country. The response of the US secretary was to ensure that the troops will be further monitored and checked for what purposes these drones circulate.

At the moment, the government chaired by Donald Trump does not yet have a clear answer regarding the procedure of his actions, however, after the complaint, the command in Iraq sent a note announcing that they were beginning to withdraw from the Asian country; subsequently, it was reported that this had been a draft sent by mistake.

The call came in a fairly stressed environment, after the American attack where the life of General of the Quds Force of the Guardians of the Iranian Revolution (IRGC) was taken and in turn leader of the Shiite militias Popular Multido in Iraq, Qasem Soleimani. Although the Iraqi official stressed that you want to avoid «open war.» For its part, Iran responded by attacking two US bases in western and northern Iraq.
