The negative impact of the pandemic on the Peruvian economy was reduced by 35%

This significant variation is explained by the restart of activities that occurred with 27 items such as mining, construction, commerce, Manufacturing, Construction, Transport, Storage, and Messaging, among others, that functioned to the minimum of their capacities. Many of these represent a major axis of movement in the country, which subsequently was evidently affected by the pandemic.

According to the latest indices, the Peruvian economy has decreased, between January and May of this year, by 17.29% in regards to national production and in the annualized period between June of last year until May of this, -5.54%.

In another economic sector, external demand has also brought about striking changes. Among them, there has been a drop in exports of traditional and non-traditional products, despite the fact that Peru has remained first in the export of blueberries and some products.
