Cusco: discovery of new «mountain of 7 colors» becomes a new tourist spot

In the ‘Apu Taqllo’ mountain, one of the most recent finds that would benefit tourism in Peru is found. At 4,000 meters above sea level, in the province of Canas, there is a mountain very similar to the one known as «7 colors».

The new mountain has been dubbed «Pallay Punchu» and amazes with the variety of colors that can be appreciated. The mayor of Layo (Canas), Aurelio Cáceres, mentions that the place was discovered by inhabitants close to the area and who announced that it could have a tourist potential that can financially support the town.

However, despite the incredible photographs, the area is still not accessible due to the pandemic that is still ongoing.

The head of the Regional Directorate for Foreign Trade and Tourism (Dircetur), Guido Quiñones, stated that the area is being recently evaluated and the case will be coordinated in order to publicize the procedures for this place to be registered. and that it can count on the respective signage, since, as can be seen in the photographs, it is an area of difficult access.

«We must point out that to date the reactivation of tourism trips in the region has not begun, so the visits that are being made are the sole responsibility of each one of the people who do it, work must still be done on-site in order to safeguard the integrity of visitors», he said.
