Paolo Guerrero will miss the rest of the season due to injury

Different Brazilian media have confirmed the rupture of the cruciate ligament in his right knee, an injury he suffered in the defeat of his International team against Fluminense. It has also been confirmed that he will undergo surgery in the next few days and the estimated recovery time will be approximately 6 months, leaving him out of this season with the «colorado». In addition, if the dates for the qualifiers are confirmed this year, the Peruvian striker would not be available.

The bad news keeps coming. Yesterday they faced off, for one more date from Brasileirao, Paolo Guerrero’s SC Internacional against Fernando Pacheco’s Fluminense, who was not from the game. The former Alianza Lima, as he has been doing lately, put his team ahead at 28 minutes. However, while the game was tied, Guerrero lay down on the ground and had to be substituted. The match ended with a victory for Fluminense and concern on the part of «Chacho Coudet», coach of the Interist team.

Today, it was announced that Paolo Guerrero suffered an injury to his right knee that compromises the cruciate ligament, something that had not happened to him since 2009 when, at the age of 25, he played for Hamburg and was injured in the same way in a match against Venezuela by qualifiers. The estimated recovery time for this type of injury is approximately 6 to 8 months, so it has been ruled out for the remainder of the season in the Brazilian championship and, if the elimination dates for October are confirmed, it would not arrive either.
