England: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle resign from their positions in the royal family to work independently

Today, England woke up to the news that for many it was an open secret, Prince Harry along with his wife Meghan Markle announced in a statement his resignation to the British Royal Family. After a hard 2019 where the Dukes of Sussex struggled to have a private life, today they confirm what was suspected months ago because until recently we remember that both had decided to spend the holidays away from the Queen and the rest of the royal family.

This decision comes days after the six-week vacation that the royal couple took in Canada, where they spent time with their eight-month-old son Archie, and the mother of the former actress. However, it is not the first time that Harry and Meghan’s marriage – who were married in May 2018 at a majestic wedding at Windsor Castle – has been affected in this way.

Recall that previously they received harsh criticism from the press for their excessive expenses and for their desperate attempt to have privacy. The Dukes of Sussex have always struggled not to be in the public eye. From refusing to reveal where his son was born to a lawsuit to a British newspaper for publishing a private letter from Markle to his father.

No official statement from Queen Elizabeth II or the British Royal Family has yet been released; since nearby sources confirm that this decision would not have been consulted with any of them. For now, the Dukes of Sussex have made it clear that they will continue to collaborate with the royal family in full and share their time between Canada and North America.
