6-month suspension for Tomas Galvez becomes official

The prosecutor of the Nation, Zoraida Ávalos, made the suspension for a period of 6 months official to the supreme prosecutor Tomas Gálvez Villegas, this after the plenary session of the National Board of Justice (JNJ) made said decision by prior agreement.

Thus, through resolution 797-2020-MP-FP, Tomas Gálvez ‘will not be able to exercise the powers inherent to the status of supreme prosecutor established in the Organic Law of the Public Ministry and any other inherent to said position.’

Meanwhile, it was arranged that the replacement of Tomas Gálvez for the office of the Supreme Prosecutor in Administrative Disputes be for the incumbent supreme deputy prosecutor Martha Maisch Molina, for a period of six months, that is, between the fortnight of December of this year.

It should be noted that the Supreme Prosecutor Tomas Gálvez is preemptively suspended by the National Board of Justice, while the investigations against him continue for his alleged participation in the criminal organization «Los Cuellos Blancos del Puerto».
