After a heart-stopping Twitter poll in which the gastronomic series Street Food Latin America asked its followers what was the best street food in the region, the social network jumped on visits to support the different dishes proposed. The finalists were the Mexican Tlayuda, the Peruvian Ceviche and the Argentine Choripan.
According to the Larousse Encyclopedic Dictionary of Mexican Gastronomy, this traditional dish from Oaxaca originated in the Central Valleys and consists of the use of a large corn tortilla (approximately 30 centimeters). Its use can vary between salads as well as snacks or breakfasts. In the latter cases, they would be accompanied by powdered sugar and coffee.
