Lima’s Townhall : You must use a face shield to enter the Metropolitan

Through a statement from the municipality of Lima, all citizens are informed that as of Monday, July 20, all users of the Metropolitan transport system and complementary riders must use face shield, which is mandatory for entry.

Said measure comes into effect within the framework of the fight against the coronavirus (Covid-19) a few weeks after the quarantine ends, the measure will be applied tomorrow, according to Supreme Decree 016-2020-MTC, published in the newspaper The Peruvian official. That is why all citizens who do not carry such an implement (face shield) will not be able to use transportation systems to enter stations, or board buses.

Likewise, the municipality of Lima in its press release, stressed that in the past week, an awareness campaign has been carried out by social networks, the media and the personnel who work at the metro stations and bus stops. This in order to promote the use of the mask and face shield in the citizenry.

Another of the protocols that will remain in force will be the use of social distancing, hand washing, the use of alcohol, the disinfection of public transport and another series of additional protocols that the Ministry of Health (MINSA) has in the framework of the fight o prevention against coronavirus (COVID-19).

It should be noted that studies carried out by McMaster University in Canada indicate that the use of a facial protector reduces the risk of contracting coronavirus (Covid-19) by 7%, against a 17% increased risk for not using this implement.
