Universal Pictures and Tom Cruise plan to shoot film in outer space

According to sources, Universal Pictures is negotiating to shoot the first movie in space with star Tom Cruise. The film will have a budget of approximately $ 200 million and will feature Doug Liman as director. The film does not yet have a script, according to Variety.

In May, the NASA Administrator informed the agency and SpaceX that it will participate with Hollywood actor Tom Cruise to shoot a movie on the International Space Station (ISS). Cruise will be aboard SpaceX’s Crew Dragon spacecraft, which is deployed into orbit over the Falcon 9 rocket.

Cruise is known worldwide for his role in the «Mission: Impossible» saga and the space movie «Oblivion». He does not run away from adventure and loves action movies. So going into space on a rocket will be an unforgettable and unique experience! SpaceX launched its first flight aboard the Crew Dragon spacecraft on May 30. A Falcon 9 rocket left NASA’s Kennedy Space Center alongside astronaut Robert Behnken and astronaut Douglas Hurley. The mission called Demo-2, demonstrates that the ship is safe and noble for future missions in the orbiting laboratory. Astronauts are expected to return to the Dragon soon, on August 2.

A film shot in space would completely change the film industry. Tom Cruise will have to undergo rigorous training to roll in zero gravity. It is still unclear how many actors or crew will be joining alongside Cruise for his next adventure film. For sure, they will take a unique moment and see amazing things!
